Journey of Peace & Friendship
I was so moved by hearing Sherri Mitchell speak at an online event recently that I started reading her book Sacred Instructions (2018) and researching the Journey of Peace and Friendship organized by The Land Peace Foundation.
April 22 Earth Day – April 29th
“The Land Peace Foundation is committed to preserving the Indigenous way of life, deepening connection to place, and strengthening Wabanaki kinship and ally networks. The organization does this through strong Indigenous leadership programs, multi-faceted land-based learning opportunities, comprehensive environmental justice programs, and the convening of community healing gatherings. On Earth Day, the Land Peace Foundation will launch a seven-day walk.” Atlantic Black Box
The Journey of Peace & Friendship, convened by the Land Peace Foundation, is "an invitation to connect, an opportunity to move in loving solidarity with our friends and neighbors, to purposely walk toward the world that we most want to inhabit. We are coming together to actively embody our deepest held social values and most aspirational spiritual goals, such as: kindness, acceptance, mutual care, and respect." -Land Peace Foundation
Join me Tuesday morning, April 29th, for the final leg of the walk, culminating at the State House. Find out more details here.
