Nia Challenge
It’s time to change our calendar year and begin anew. What may have felt to many like a “lost” year is nonetheless an opportunity to reflect and grow. How do you want to honor and acknowledge the challenges and triumphs of 2021 as we prepare to transition into 2022?
Taking the time to sense completion of the year is a vital part of creating space for something new to arise in the coming year. Here are some ideas for celebrating the completion of 2021:
Have a conversation with a loved one, exchanging gratitudes and memories of the year gone by (to facilitate this consider keeping a jar with pre-cut slips of paper that you can write on throughout the year)
Light a candle and say out loud what you are saying good-bye to as we transition to new year, and what you are intentionally welcoming into your life. You may wish to write down and burn what it is you are shedding, and write down and keep in a visible place what it is you are welcoming
Create a “vision board” collage for the year to come: what colors, textures, words, and images inspire you? Place your board someplace you can see it regularly throughout the year to remind you of your vision and your dreams for yourself and your community
