How sweet the nectar!

There is nothing like time away to reignite my gratitude for all I cherish about my home, my community and my life. While on the road there are new sights and encounters each day, new road to explore, new history to discover, new-to-me… everything!

Yet it has been only upon returning home from our recent road trip that I am struck by just how much I have to enjoy right here. In fact, one of the first things I did was host a “Tea & Treasures” afternoon inviting friends to browse my curated belongings and take whatever “sparks joy” (in the words of Marie Kondo). It worked!

Not only did people leave with items to enjoy themselves, but it sparked abundant joy in me to see others enjoy what I had come either to take for granted, not use, or otherwise forget I even had!

Savor the Moment Coaching with Erin Curren

Making space in my condo is one simple way I savor my home. Having fewer possessions means I enjoy what is in my space that much more.

Making physical space reminds me of the importance of making energetic space. What do I mean? In this case I mean slowing down.

I mean quite literally taking longer to do tasks. Slowly emptying the dishwasher, folding the laundry, brushing my teeth, peeling carrots, making tea… you name it… Doing it s-l-o-w-l-y.

I also mean cultivating time in my week in which to do nothing structured or planned. That “nothing” may be sitting on a park bench, or looking at an art book. It may be listening to my intuition and reaching out to a friend, or listening to birdsong while walking in the woods. It may be journaling, or rolling on the floor.

When I cultivate this nourishing time my body inevitably reminds me of the space within by the flow of my breath. I slow down, I breathe, I sense.

Savoring the moment means tasting the flavor of Now.

What better way to enjoy the spice of life?
