Playback is back!

Most of the members of the new Playback company, The Teller’s Garden, are pictured here at a recent rehearsal at Portland Media Center.

I could not be more pleased to announce that Playback theatre is returning to the public stage in Portland, Maine! The pandemic brought with it changes, including the dissolution of the Playback company I had been a member of since 2008. The good news is that, after months of rehearsing, the Teller’s Garden, a new playback company, will be offering its premiere performance on Friday, November 11th, 2022, at the Portland Media Center, located at 516 Congress St. in Portland.

Doors open 6:30pm

Show starts at 7pm

$15 admission

Our theme for this debut performance on Veterans’ Day is “Coming Home”.

If you are new to playback, you are in for a unique improv experience. Audience members volunteer true stories and the actors immediately honor those stories using movement, metaphor, song, and dialogue to highlight the universal in our shared human experience.

Join us for an unforgettable night of true stories and heartfelt improv with the Teller’s Garden!
