Lewiston Love

Online Nia benefit class to support those impacted by the tragic shootings in Lewiston, Maine, and to come together in community to move, feel, and heal.

We encourage participants in this free online movement class to donate to Pine Tree Camp by adding a comment “Online Nia fundraiser to benefit Pine Tree Camp for Deaf children”—thank you for your generosity! Link to donate.

Recently my Nia sister, Fae Spath, and I were together, as we often are, to geek out on Nia and support each other in our various endeavors. As we shared our feelings about the recent mass shooting tragedy in Lewiston, the idea came to offer a free evening zoom Nia experience as a benefit for Pine Tree Camp.

Fae, as some of you may know, has worked as a sign language interpreter, and has been part of the very close knit Deaf community here in Maine for years. She currently substitute teaches at the Maine Educational Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing based out of Mackworth Island.

We thought to bring these worlds a little closer by offering this online movement experience. We hope you will join us!

Please register for this free experience using the link below, donate to support Deaf youth Dirigo summer camp, and YES, please share this invitation with loved ones.
